Quartz is an engineered stone. Unlike Granite, Quartz is man-made, by combining 97% Crushed Quartz and 3% Resin. This makes the stone just as strong as granite, but slightly heavier. They are then formed into slabs and sold to retailers. Quartz is the most popular stone on the market. From these slabs, we then custom cut your countertops to your exact measurements.
Quartz countertops are low maintenance. The engineered stone is non-porous, meaning that the material doesn’t stain and doesn’t require a sealer, unlike Granite, Quartzite & Marble. This stone’s porosity is an ideal material for kitchen countertops, due to the fact that bacteria cannot absorb or linger within the stone.
To clean these countertops, wipe them down as soon as possible with a clean towelette, warm water, and mild soap if necessary. Specialized cleaners are available on the market, but are rarely needed for proper cleaning.
